My name is Dr. Kat Ford and I am passionate about using my God given talent to help others and help professionals become effective servants to mankind. I am 43 years old and I have over 20 years of combined experience working in; public education, higher education, serving as Adjunct Professor, small business owner and developer, program management/development, community clinical/mental health, residential and counseling services and a published author. I have obtained a wealth of knowledge professionally in my career and now I am at a point in my life where I want to use my talents, knowledge, and expertise globally. My first step out on faith was completing research on understanding the transitional process of young single mothers (teen moms). I transformed the research results and published a book. I received positive feedback from that journey and was inspired to do more. So I have turned my private practice into a consulting agency. My goal is to connect with other professional individuals and organizations and begin to implement systemic changes from a grassroots level. I have grown tired of watching the world of “systemic of cluelessness” attempt to implement change based of opinion, numbers, and politics. I want to evoke and implement change based off of facts, the true need, and with a clear understanding of the population of the people that requires the assistance and change. I am advocate for the world to develop a true understanding Mental Health, Teen Parents, Urban Teens, and a positive voice for high risk & violent youth. Currently, my stake of interest resides in the understanding of the increased suicide rate in African American males. I am mother of two and a wife of 20 years. My hobbies and interests include volunteering for causes through my beloved sorority Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated.
